Magnesium and the HEART

Magnesium Deficiency can affect the heart in more ways than you know!

💚Arrhythmias: Low magnesium levels can disrupt the electrical signals that control the heart's rhythm, potentially leading to arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia.

💚 Hypertension: Magnesium helps regulate blood pressure, and deficiency may contribute to hypertension (high blood pressure), which is a risk factor for heart disease and stroke.

💚 Coronary artery spasms: Magnesium deficiency may increase the likelihood of spasms in the coronary arteries, which can reduce blood flow to the heart and lead to chest pain (angina) or even heart attacks.

💚 Cardiomyopathy: In severe cases of magnesium deficiency, there can be damage to the heart muscle (cardiomyopathy), leading to impaired heart function and potentially heart failure.

💚 Increased risk of sudden cardiac death: While not as common, severe magnesium deficiency can increase the risk of sudden cardiac death, particularly in individuals with existing heart conditions.

Maintaining adequate magnesium levels is important for overall heart health.

One of the best ways to ensure that you have sufficient magnesium levels is to use topical magnesium oil for a daily top up!
